Connect an app or agent
A connected app works with the projects you give it: a project of its own that it keeps, or a few or all of your projects, to tidy up or plan, for example. That can be software you already use, or an AI agent you build yourself.
What is a connected app?
Take your bookkeeping software. It knows when a receipt is still unmatched after two days, or when salaries are due. Connected to DoeToch, it adds a task for that to a “Bookkeeping” project, and ticks it off itself once it’s sorted.
- An app sees only the projects you choose: one, a few, or all (also projects you make later, and the Inbox). Nothing else in your account.
- Its tasks show in your list marked via and the app’s name, and open in the app itself with Open in ….
- You can still complete or edit those tasks yourself. The app sees that, and never brings back what you threw away.
Want an assistant like Claude or ChatGPT to manage your whole list? That’s an AI assistant, see
Connect with a code
Most apps and agents ask for access themselves. They show you a link and a code.
Open the link, or go to
app.doetoch.com/connectand enter the code. Sign in if needed.Check that the app’s name is right and that the code matches the one in the app. Never approve a code someone else sent you.
Look at what the app asks and choose what you give: a new project for the app, existing projects (tick them, or All projects), and whether it may change things or only read. You can always give less than asked, never more.
Choose Allow. The app continues by itself; you can close the page.
If an app asks for all projects and change, you see a warning: it can then change every task, also in projects you make later. Everything stays in the history and the trash, so it can be undone.
A code is valid for 15 minutes and works once. Choose Deny if you don’t know the app.
Asking for more later
If a connected app wants more later, such as a new project “Bookkeeping 2027” or access to more projects, you get a notification in DoeToch (and on your phone). Tap it, choose what you give, and choose Allow or Deny. Nothing happens until you decide.
Make a token yourself
Does the app have a field for a DoeToch token? Make one yourself:
Open app.doetoch.com and go to Settings › Integrations › Connected apps.
Choose Connect an app, enter the app’s name and choose a new or existing project.
Copy the token (it starts with
dta_) and paste it into the app. It is shown only once.
What an app can and can’t do
- Can
- In the projects you gave it: read and search tasks, and if it may change things also add, change, reschedule, complete, reopen and (one at a time) trash them, and create sections. Create projects only if you allowed that.
- Can’t
- See or change other projects, change labels or filters, delete projects, invite people or change your account.
- Limits
- At most 2,000 open tasks, 1,000 changes a day and 600 requests an hour per connection.
Change or disconnect
Settings › Integrations › Connected apps shows what each app may use. Change it with Access on the web; it applies at once.
Disconnect is there too, on the web or in the app. The app can’t do anything from then on. Its tasks stay, marked “disconnected”.
What DoeToch stores about connections is in the privacy statement.
